Help & support

Get clarity. Keep publishing.

Start with a focused check of the affected page, then use the contact form or GitHub to reach us with the details needed to understand the problem.

Best for

Site owners troubleshooting a live or staging WordPress installation

Suggested path

Reproduce one issue, inspect the rendered output, remove conflicts and document the result.

You will leave with

A focused diagnostic report and a safer path to resolution.

Metadata is missing or duplicated

Inspect the rendered HTML of one affected public page. Check for multiple titles, canonical links, robots tags or competing JSON-LD output. Review theme settings and other SEO plugins that may generate the same information.

Clear relevant caches after a confirmed settings change and check again in a fresh browser session. A settings preview and the final published HTML can differ when caching or other extensions are involved.

A sitemap is not behaving as expected

Open the sitemap address directly and check the response and XML. Review eligibility, exclusions and publication identity in Sitemap health. Check child references and whether a cache is serving old output. If you get a 404, enable pretty permalinks and re-save Settings → Permalinks.

Distinguish a valid sitemap from confirmed indexing. Search Console reports provide evidence about Google’s processing; a plugin’s local check does not establish search engine inclusion.

Installation or activation failed

Upload PublishRank.zip without unzipping it. If WordPress reports a fatal error, check your PHP version, deactivate other SEO plugins and review the debug log. If the upload exceeds your host’s limit, install over SFTP.

The documentation’s error reference lists the most common messages and fixes.

The download does not start

The Download button points to PublishRank.zip on the latest GitHub release. If your browser, network or a content blocker interrupts it, open the GitHub releases page and choose the file manually.

Make sure the file you installed came from the project’s GitHub release.

Gather a useful diagnostic report

Record the affected URL, expected behavior, actual behavior and the steps that reproduce the problem. Include relevant WordPress, PHP, theme and plugin environment information.

Remove credentials, tokens and personal data from any report you share. A narrowly scoped example from staging is safer and more useful than a full site export.
